Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas is the sixth Wiggles video and the first Christmas video. It was released on Monday October 13, 1997.

The video was re-released in Wednesday October 13, 1999, with "Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer" omitted, and "Wiggly Christmas Medley" added. This was the version of the video used in international releases, as well as the one uploaded in four parts to The Wiggles' official YouTube channel as part of the Classic Wiggles collection, beginning with Part 1 being released on Monday November 12, 2018. This video was later remade in 2017 with Emma, Lachy and Simon.

Production[]

The video's filming took place in July 1997.

For the international versions, the "Wiggly Christmas Medley" was filmed on Tuesday December 8, 1998 at the Sydney Entertainment Centre.

In September 1996, the Wiggles originally shot the video for Wiggly, Wiggly Christmas, but due to the coming release of The Wiggles Movie that included their updated branding, the original video has remained unreleased, although there has been photos leaked from the set of "It's a Christmas Party, On the Goodship Feathersword" and "Go Santa Go" is the only available video online.

Song 3: Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer - with a female kid dressed up as Rudolf. Santa Claus also appears. After the first time around, Greg asks everyone to put on their antlers, so everyone puts their open hands to their heads to imitate a reindeer. At the end of the song, they all dance around in a circle acting like Rudolf and the other reindeers.

Unto Us, This Holy Night segment: Anthony talks with a group of kids who are dressed up ready to do a nativity play. Sian is one of the shepherds; she shows everyone her crooked staff. She decorated it with some tinsel. Joseph gets to play Joseph! He will put his hand on Mary's shoulder. Clare gets to play Mary. She has a shawl that she will put on her head. Anthony (Who is one of the kids and has the same name as the blue-shirted wiggle) is in his pyjamas and he helps Clare put on her shawl. Ashley is playing a sheep. Alicia is playing a cow, but she's not in the segment.

Felice Navidad introduction: Anthony is dressed up with a Mariachi hat and he talks with the puppet iguanas Iggy, Ziggy & Frank in the segment. He talks about how to say Merry Christmas in different languages from local Australian natives, and then Italian. And then in Spanish, Iggy tells Anthony that it's "Felice Navidad!"

Jingle Bells introduction: The Wiggles are making a cardboard sleigh in the segment. Jeff has big scissors, Anthony has glue, Wags and Captain Feathersword are aboard the sleigh, decorating it with tinsel, and Greg has a big paintbrush. So let's all sing a song about riding in a sleigh.

Song 10: Jingle Bells

Now they're ready to fly away. Captain Feathersword and Wags then take off.

Christmas Picnic segment: Jeff is sleeping in his favourite comfy chair. He has a dream where Santa Claus and Henry the Octopus are helping the Wiggles put together a sandcastle while a fast instrumental tune plays. Henry dances in circles to it. Then the Wiggles arrive and Greg notices he's asleep. They count to 3 and say, "Wake up Jeff!". After waking up, Jeff tells them about his dream. It was real; he reaches down for his shoe, picks it up, and pours water out of it. The others laugh.

(Henry's Christmas Dance Title Card. Band plays, followed by a short triangle sound.)

Jeff's Christmas Tune segment: Anthony and Murray are present with Dorothy the Dinosaur. She knows a lot of different dances so the guys have Dorothy demonstrate some.

The first dance is tap dancing.

The second one is Scottish dancing.

The third one is a line dance. Murray makes a roaring sound, but Anthony corrects him and says it's not a lion dance, it's actually a line dance. Dorothy understands and says she'll do a boot scoot, and does just that. Yee-haw!

The fourth and last one is Irish dancing, which is Dorothy's favourite and she scats along to it with a song called Nya Nya Nya from The Wiggles Movie.

Murray says how Dorothy sure is a great dancer.

It's a Christmas Party, On the Goodship Feathersword segment: Greg and Murray are present with Captain Feathersword groaning over too much Christmas food. Murray says he ate too much Christmas pudding, that there is a lot of great food to eat at Christmas but tells Captain Feathersword that he has to be careful not to eat too much. Greg says that Captain Feathersword ate five plates of pudding at the Christmas dinner and that three buttons popped loose which made him exclaim "Oh I'm not getting any thinner! Hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo-hoo!"

Wags is Bouncing Around the Christmas Tree segment: Murray has a present for Wags. It's a bone. Greg, Jeff, and Anthony arrive with presents for Wags but they're all present. They are just like Murray's; bones. Murray asks the others and they say that it's a bone. When Murray is sad that the bone is what he got Wags for Christmas and when the others find out that they have the same present as his, they lower their heads and cry, "Oh, no!", and they look sad, but Anthony says that he'll like them anyway so they raise their heads and they look happy, but they were okay and so was that. They put the bones under the tree after Murray told them. Wags arrives and gives The Wiggles a present, which is a bone! The Wiggles and Wags laugh.

(It fades to black. Until, it transitions to Anthony is telling everyone getting ready for the Nativity scene with these kids.)

Anthony: We're getting ready for today's Nativity play. Now, a Nativity play is a play all about the first Christmas. And everyone's dressed up in different characters. Over here is Sian. Now, Sian, who are you today in the play?

Sian Ryan: I'm a shepherd.

Anthony: A shepherd. Yeah, and what have you brought along?

Sian Ryan: I've brought along my crook.

Anthony: Oh, the shepherd's crook. And what does that do?

Sian Ryan: It, um, leads away the sheep.

Anthony: Oh, good. and you've decorated it with...

Sian: Some tinsel.

Anthony: Oh, that's fantastic. Over here is Joseph. Joseph, who are you playing in the Nativity play?

Joseph: Joseph.

Anthony: Joseph. So you're Joseph and you're playing Joseph. That's fantastic. And what do you have to do when you're doing the play?

Joseph: Um, I put my hand over Mary's shoulder and, um, that's all.

Anthony: Well, that's good. Put your hand on Mary's shoulder. And Clare, you must be...

Clare: Mary.

Anthony: Mary. And you've got a lovely shawl here. Does that go on your shoulders or where does that go?

Clare: On my head.

Anthony: On your head. Oh, do you want to put it on and show everybody? It's great. Anthony, you might like to help Clare put that on. There we go.

Anthony Silvestrini: I'll do the bow.

Anthony: Okay, you do the bow, Anthony. There we go, that's lovely. It's got beautiful stars on it, too. Fantastic. And over here's Ashleigh. Ashleigh, what have you been, what are you today in the play?

Ashleigh: Sheep.

Anthony: A sheep. Okay, you've got a little head to put on and gloves and things. Do you want to get those ready and we might have a Nativity play. And, you can have one at home, too.

(It fades to black. Until, it transitions to the title of the song: Unto Us, This Holy Night. A scene where The Wiggles are playing their instruments. While, the kids are doing a skit for the Nativity play.)

Jeff: (He wakes up & blubbers.) Hey, guys! I just had a dream then. I dreamt that we were at the beach and were building a big sandcastle. Santa Claus and Henry the Octopus were helping us.

Murray: A sandcastle?

Jeff: It was so real! Take a look at this. (He picks up his boot & dumps water out of it & the others laugh.)

(It transitions to the title of the song: Christmas Picnic. A scene where The Wiggles, Henry & Santa are getting everything ready for the picnic. Until, Dorothy, Wags & Captain are gonna come to invite us.)

Greg: (singing) We're having a picnic on the beach.

Dorothy: I'd like to do some more dancing, Anthony.

Anthony: (He's giving thumbs up with Murray.) You beauty! Well, how about some tap dancing, Dorothy?

Dorothy: Oh, sure!

Anthony: 2, 3, 4.

(Dorothy does tap dancing while the piano plays in the background.)

(Anthony laughs while he & Murray claps.)

Murray: Great dancing, Dorothy.

Dorothy: Thanks.

Murray: Hey, I've got one. Dorothy, how about some Scottish dancing?

Dorothy: Ooh, Scottish! (She's doing Scottish dancing while the piano plays "Scotland the Brave" and bowing.) Och aye.

(Anthony & Murray clap.)

Anthony (He's laughing.) Well done, Dorothy. Hey, Dorothy, I've got a special dance for you to do. We like to call it the line dance.

Murray: (He leans toward Dorothy & faces camera.) Rarrr!

Dorothy: (She notices Murray & jumps in surprise.) Oh!

Anthony: No, Murray, not the lion dance, but the line dance.

Dorothy: Boot scootin', Murray. (She starts doing her line dance to piano music.)

Anthony: Hey-hey! She's doing it! Whoa-ho!

Dorothy: (She is finishing her line dance.) Yee-ha!

Murray: (He's clapping with Anthony.) Oh, well done, Dorothy. Oh, Dorothy, how about this one? How about some Irish dancing?

Dorothy: (She gasps.) Oh, my favorite! (She starts doing her Irish dancing & singing while the piano plays "Nya, Nya, Nya".) Ta-daaaaa!

(Anthony & Murray clap.)

Anthony (He's laughing.)

Murray: Wonderful, Dorothy.

Dorothy: Thanks!

Murray: Dorothy, you sure are a great dancer.

(It fades to black. Until, it transitions to the title of the song: Jeff's Christmas Tune instrumental track. A scene where The Wiggles, their kids dressed as reindeer or the elves & their friends are doing a free style dancing to do the actions. While, everyone gets to wear their favourite Christmas crown. After that, a slide transitions over to Captain Feathersword moaning over eating too much Christmas food. Then, Murray & Greg arrives to ask Captain what's wrong.)

Captain Feathersword: Whoa-ho-ho-hoo! Ooh! Too much Christmas food! Too much Christmas food! Hoo-hoo-ho.

Murray: Captain Feathersword, what's wrong?

Captain Feathersword: Oooh-hoo. I've had too Christmas pudding, Murray, and I'm not feeling too good. Hoo-hoo-hoo!

Murray: Oh, Captain. There's always lot's of great food to eat at Christmas, but you've got to be careful not to eat too much.

Greg: Captain Feathersword ate five plates of pudding all of the Christmas dinner. Three coat buttons popped which made him exclaim...

Jeff: (He is arriving while holding a purple-shaped bone present.) I've got a present for Wags, as well.

Anthony: (He is arriving while holding a blue-shaped bone present.) Murray, look, I've got a present here for Wags the Dog.

Murray: Oh, great, guys! What are they?

Greg, Jeff & Anthony: It's a bone!

Murray: Aw, that's what I got him, too.

Wiggles: Oh, no!

Anthony: Oh, well, he'll like them anyway.

Murray: Let's put them under the tree. (They're putting our bone presents under the tree. Until, Wags arrives.) Here comes Wags now.

Murray: What's that, Wags? You've got a present for all of us?

Wags: Woof, woof, woof, woof, woof! (He is giving a special bone to the Wiggles.) Ta-da!

Wiggles: A BONE! (They're all laughing.)

(It transitions to the title of the Song: Wags is Bouncing Around the Christmas Tree. A scene where Wags barks & dancing with Greg to have been done decorating.)

(Wags barks.)

Greg: (singing) Where is Wags? It's Christmas Day.

Murray & Jeff: (singing in high pitched) We don't know where but he's barking away.

Greg: (singing) I think that he's been chewing my shoe

Anthony: (singing in low pitched) And some of his Christmas pudding.
